Well here it is Paris well part of it I went by Euro Star which they went and moved (now at St Pancras) on me Waterloo was so much easier to get to just round the corner & only a short Cab ride but of course I under stand not very PC (Politically Correct – just in case you don’t know we had a war a while back that we won & it was called the battle of Waterloo so rubbing it in the French’s nose a bit, we like to do that we STILL go on about the war to the Germans LoL) Anyhoo the
Euro Star is actually quiet good
if you book far enough in advance & don’t have changeable tickets (like a
plane) you can get a return for £60 that’s £30 each way I will say best to get
a seat in the four seater for the leg room even if on your own, it only takes
2.15 hrs door to door that’s straight in to Paris Du Nord which has an
underground system just like here called the Metro
(smells more than ours dose
though) My brother was there to pick me
up (sweet) you don’t have to go through passport control again here only on one
side so when your leave the country you have an half hour booking in process
where you go through everything you would in an airport security checks the
arch way scanning of luggage extra but no baggage pick up just walk straight
through when you get off! *M* took me back to the flat they were renting up at
the top of these spiral stairs!
He took my luggage such a sweetie! I am no where as fit as I should be but I think I would be if I lived here! LoL
I loved our
little rooms so sweet just time for a quick chat & a tea before we were off
down those stairs to meet up with the girls at the Louver (my sister in law *S*
& friend *A*) & went for a walk before we had dinner, which was ok but
the desert made up for it chocolate cake with chocolate custard & hazel nut
ice-cream just to die for & went up the Eiffel tower at night it was *S*
Bday so here is the card & the other Exploding box I made.
We thought we had missed the last lift up the tower but went anyway for the photos but it turns out the Eiffel Tower carried on till mid night so we ended up going right to the top which is no mean feat as not only am I not too keen on heights but I know *M* wasn’t either & it turned out that *A* wasn’t too hot about it too! I had no idea that my brother held so much power over my fears he managed to escalate it 10 times I have been up the tower before when I was 18 but I don’t remember being as scared as I was I really had to put my big girls pants on & deal with it but I got right to the edge right at the top & it was blowing a gale at the top I was so very proud of myself & I did that last bit on my own!
Ok so that was pretty much the first day over with will post some more photos later as other wise you won’t get to see these

Hi just to say I’m back, I am here I’m trying to edit the 900 photos I took in Paris I know I was only there a few days I came back had to go straight to work, because my brother is living in the states we stayed up quite late (body clock thing) so I really didn’t get much sleep so I was really tired & I hit the ground running! It was fantastic to see him & my sister in law again it been at least 2 years and it was so not long enough I’m starting a send me to San Fran fund for next year I really must pull my finger out & start looking again for a new job as I’m not going to get made redundant which is a bummer I’ve been made redundant so many times I thought this was gonna be a certain and the money would have been welcome for a change, as of Friday I have been with this company 7 years so wouldn’t have been too bad but those are the breaks they kick you when you are down & won’t kick you when you want to !
Anyhoo weekend wasn’t much slower got back had to pick up 2 birthday presents that I ordered from friends rush home & go teach a class then back R fell asleep & forgot to come pick me up!!! Thankfully one of the girl’s only lives around the corner so she dropped me off R got a new job so he’s real knackered too longer hours! Sunday was my mother in laws birthday so had her over for a while watched a couple of films & had a take away plus taught her how to makes some cards as part of her as I bought her stuff for it (at her request) but before she came round had to do a little house work the place had of course not had those little pixies that they tell you about in brownies installed so no hovering or laundry was done so I had to do it and since it has been so hot here I quickly decided to swap the winter & summer wardrobes over (now that’s my own fault wanting to do too much in one go!) I’ve got a few birthday cards to do more birthdays again! And I want to make a Paris postcard book as I deliberately bought lots of postcards sometimes 3 of the same one (well 3 actually one for M&S and one for both me & A S’s friend she brought) that will have some of my photos in and journal stamps for writing & spaces for others photos to be put! As I want the other 2 girls to write & do stuff in they’re own book so they make it their’s any how this has already gone on way too long just thought I would post something so you know I was around & was trying to get my s**t together just not doing a very good job! LoL

How to make an Exploding box no C4 involved! (No animals or paper were harmed in the making of this)
So this is my version of the exploding box since I can’t find a decent picture instruction and I needed to make one or two as I made my boxes I also made an instruction sheet on how to make one for any one who wants to.
You start with 4 sheets of 12x12 scrapbooking paper
(Scrapbooking paper is in inches so all these measurements will be given in inches)
First sheet is easy 12x12 don’t have to cut down first just measure 4 inches in, then another 4 & another 4 both across & down then score these lines and then cut the corner 4 inch squares out so you have cross left!
This sheet is going to be the outside of your box
Second sheet now you need to cut this down to 11 ¼ x 11 ¼ so that’s ¾ of an inch off both the side & bottom like an L shape
Then measure 3 ¾ inches in, then another 3 ¾ & another 3 ¾ do this both across & down then score these lines and then cut the corner 3 ¾ inch squares out so you have another slightly smaller cross left.
This is the middle sheet
Third sheet you need to cut this one down to 10 ½ x 10 ½ so that’s 1 ½ inches off both the side & bottom like an L shape
Then measure 3 ½ inches in, then another 3 ½ & another 3 ½ do this both across & down then score these lines and then cut the corner 3 ½ inch squares out so you have another slightly smaller cross left.
This is the inner most sheet
Fourth sheet (which will become your lid) you can either use an pre made 8x8 sheet or cut down a 12x12 sheet to 8x8 so that will be 4 inches off both the side & the bottom like an L shape
This one is going to be slightly different.
You need to measure in from each edge 1 ¾ inches & score & fold so you have a square in the middle & four little squares in each corner.
Then cut a diagonal from the corner of the edge of sheet (in each of the little corner squares) into the score line only, on all four corners.
Fold all the little triangles back on themselves so that it looks like you have cut the small squares out (but you haven’t)
Then fold the strips (which will become the sides of your lid) up let the triangles fold one on outside one on inside & glue.
Do this on all 4 corers & you should have your lid for the box.
So to make the base of the box you just put sheets 1 to 3 together 1 being the biggest on the outside and 3 the smallest on the inside line them up & glue the middles together. To close them fold the together like a flower & use the lid to secure! When the lid is taken off the flower (or box) will unfold or explode
If you want to stamp or decorate best to do before you put it together!
then all you do is add photos to it or messages or what ever you want
Hope this helps it was a lot easier than it looked it fact typing this was harder than doing it! LOL

So it’s 23rd April St George’s day the saint of England (among many other places) we don’t really celebrate it much over here which is a shame as we seem to celebrate everybody else’s including ones I didn’t even know about! Which is good, the thing I love about London is the way we just incorporate everything! If you stand in Trafalgar square long enough you can meet the world you can eat food from every nation with out leaving the country it’s amazing how welcoming we CAN be but we also have our down sides where people are afraid of change & complain about all the foreigners which is how the BNP (British National Party not good) started taking over St George’s day and doing marches to get “blacks out” firstly most “blacks” (don’t like using that term but it fits in with what I’m going to say) are now born here & therefore British citizens and secondly how dare they use our Saint for that kind of racism they changed it to keep Britain British but that just doesn’t float either as who can really call them selves “British” or “English” and what is it anyway? If you go back far enough most families will find that they have a mixed bag just look at our Royal family German, French, Greek Very European. We have been invaded so many times in the past I mean Celts, Vikings, French, Norman, Romans and even the Germans way back, English has a lot of German & French words in it you know!
Anyway I think we should take back our day we should celebrate being English in all its glory, we do pomp & ceremony like no other. We have history coming out of our ears, & we know how to take the Mickey out of our selves! Over the years more & more Celebes & Politian’s have been using they’re voices to try and get us to actually have a St Georges day to celebrate, St Patrick’s day wasn’t celebrated that much until Guinness started getting involved now it’s a real party so what we really need is a beer to get behind the day! LoL
Anyhow not so keen on the idea of killing the dragon as I quiet like dragons or at least the idea of them but I do think we should be pound to be English & to celebrate all that is English is it’s ever changing roll! Ok rant over with

Not So Fun
That although I’m not that comfortable doing it I have never been invited on a freebee lunch – that’s one of those lunches were your clients take you out it the 7 years that I’ve been here I haven’t been on 1 and everyone goes on at least one or two a year the sales team more like 1 or 2 a month but that is the nature of they’re job but the other admin staff have been on at least one a year including my fellow staffers in my department but never me! (I am not counting the Christmas do) Yes I feel left out! There are even Balls & events that the others go to & I have only ever been to 1 event Ascot when I first started and never to a ball which truth be told I would like to go to just once! Since I now answer the phones the majority of the time (read I’ve become the receptionist in all but title & pay packet) when the events come up I do keep getting asked why I’m not coming & I say I’m not invited with any luck one of the other companies will have a spare ticket one day (they do cost a lot) and they will invite me as a guest instead that would really piss my lot off so Cinderella can go to the ball LOL! But it dose make me feel very isolated & back at school!
Open plan offices (& schools they really don’t work) I have very good hearing & am easily distracted which is MY problem I know - so open plan office really are a challenge so much noise & I can hear it all & the really neat thing is I can hone in on the really good gossip too! Yep I’m like a freeking beagle & the truth is I really don’t mean to it’s a dame curse I wish I could not be so nosey but there it is I am, so I try not to react but I find hard when someone right next to me says something I usually think they ARE talking to me so when I answer they shouldn’t get all upset and say it’s a “private conversation” yet get upset again when I ignore them because I’m not sure that they are speaking to me as they are shouting across the office! You want a private conversation in an open planned office go to the board room I can’t hear through the wall (unless I use a glass LoL!) You want to talk to me pick up the dame phone & talk to me or come here don’t f**king shout and then get the hump with me because I am unsure what you want from me.

That today felt like it was actually spring! Finally
That I’ve got a lot of projects done over the last few days, I’m starting to feel on top of my work load always a good feeling.
I’m re reading all of my scrapbooking/ crafting books I’ve got about 50 of which 20 are my favs that I come back to again & again! Love it when I’ve made an investment rather than a one read mistake.
That I’m teaching on Saturday always fun & more money to spend on stuff!
2 weeks to Paris can’t believe how fast it’s going! Going to see my brother & my sister in law & I’ve been making stuff hope they like it!
New TV programs – we have a media centre our own set up (old computer that records the TV we want to watch so we can watch it when we want to & can skip through the adverts bliss) and all sorts of new stuff is finally on the TV so I can catch up with what other people have been talking about! (I refuse to pay the outrageous cable prices for crap TV repeats)
And of course spreading the love thank you for my comments last week remember to spread the love among your fellow Tuesday thing bloggers you may find a new friend the only way to find a friend is be a friend! LoL

I do no want 1sad to be the lead title on my blog anymore so going to post another little tourist one just to get it off
This one is more cheapness it’s a walk you start off from St Paul’s (which I really must go in again someday soon & take photos cause it is awesome but I will probably do in the winter less tourists anyway) so the outside of St Paul’s is absolutely amazing it was of course rebuilt by sir Christopher Wren due to the great fire of London which started in the bakers oven at what we now call Monument
(also built by Wren & Robert Hooke) pudding lane on September 2nd 1666 and due to mismanagement by the local government spread out and destroyed most of medieval London the fire was eventually put out on 7th September it is said to have been a low death toll as they only recorded the upper classes not the middle, working or homeless deaths! Which of course would have been a lot & as the fire was very hot in places not a lot was left for burial if anything. The one good thing that came from this the Black Death which had been rife the year before seemed to have vanished too!
Ok one of those funny little facts the fire started at Pudding lane and finished at Pye (pie) Corner so some people said that it was a sign from god that it was punishment for our sin of Gluttony
I pass both these places on my way to & from work every day I must be glutton for punishment hehe ok maybe not so funny but I though it was funny no oh well no pleasing some people.

by the way they fixed so not so much fun anymore! On the way down the hill

So on to the bridge with the Tate Modern in the back ground which
is an amazing space it used to be an old power station that they converted a
while back they get some huge pieces in there, so this time I turned left &
went towards London Bridge passing
The Globe which was rebuilt on the same site
that Shakespeare original and to the same spec so along the river bank and on
to
the Borough Market which is a food market used to be quite run down but in
recent years has had a revival it was used for lock stock & 2 smokin
barrels

LoL ok hope you all had a good weekend mine was very productive problem is I was making presents for people so can’t show as they is a chance that they may look and it will spoil the surprise but I have run out of glue dot’s & double sided sticky tape & I had a lot I’m teaching next week so I will have an opportunity to stock up! I have also spent the weekend backing up photos & checking up & tidying up my back up hard drive I had 113GB of back up photos Wowza (my system backs up every 3 hours) so I went through & deleted anything I had doubles of as I went & a while back I changed the names of files to make it easier to find them & of course the back up back up both sets! so now I have only 45GB I also pulled off all but my favs files of 2005/06/07 I’ve already backed these up on DVD’s twice one copy at work & one here so if I really need a photo I can always put it back on but more than likely I’m only ever going to use my favs from that year & there are a lot of those! And I’m still slowly scanning my 35mm pics in I’ve got a small chest full of those just waiting to be done but I only do those as & when I feel the need to I’ve done the oldest & most delicate. Ok hopefully this wasn’t too boring

I’m sad because someone I knew a while back (Mark) has died, it looks like he took his own life, he has had a rough time recently his fiancée (Natasha) had died horrible by accident & I think he blamed himself & he was under suspicion of her murder at one point (this I never believed!) I didn’t know him more recently but he’s one of a crowd that I knew way back in the 90’s when I worked at Jubilee Hall Sports Centre, where quite a few media types worked out, he was always a bit of a joker & a fun guy and this is how I will remember him my heart & prays go out to both families & his friends as they now have to grieve again for his loss as the did for Natasha!

Why dose the guy opposite me have to eat sooo loudly & with his mouth open! I really don’t want to hear you eating your food & I certainly don’t want to see it DUDE oh and don’t talk with you mouth full FGS did no one teach you manors! I actually go out of the room when he eats because it makes me physically sick, I always go to do the banking when he has his lunch break so I don’t have to be there when he spits his food all over the place and while I’m at it he needs to trim his nose hair & blow his nose more often too!
I’m sick & tired of companies giving me just the initials of they’re company and then expecting me just to put them through to the MD yeah right nice try & then they get the hump with me & are rude to me when I ask who they are & what they do because the MD won’t speak to them unless he know this, I’m not being nosey! Dude I’m not just a secretary I the most important person in the world to you if you actually think talking down & being rude to the person who picks up the phone is going to actually get you through to the person you want to speak to then just go right ahead and be that A**hole! I infact don’t want to be the person picking up the phone but we don’t have a receptionist or secretary we just have me oddjob Janet I get all the jobs no one else wants to do because some were on my job description it says “plus add hoc duties”
So I will take your name & company initials down then google search you and you will go on my wall of shame the one of all the people I won’t put through as I know you’re a sales person for a corporate events company or a broker trying to sell shares & my MD really doesn’t want to talk to you & if by chance you do get through (some times the other morns do answer the phone) he always gives me the name & company so not to put you threw next time jerk!

Finding out that my little Pentax Optio S5i yep I don’t even have a digital SLR can do film clips so there is no need for me to buy another gadget (although the flip dose look good I can’t afford one & I really don’t need one!) and the quality is actually really good! Oh and it dose sound too!
Feeling a lot of love at the moment from friends & family who know how low I’ve been feeling with work but I believe good things will happen I just have to be patient! And R just had a job interview so fingers crossed that he gets it as he could really do with a change of scenery too!
