When Mondays go wrong again!
When Mondays go wrong again!
Well it’s Monday again & it’s travel hell out there!
It’s raining really hard, so nothing new you say, it rains here quite a bit we are even known for it! Wrong we used to be a raining country but in the last few years we’ve had droughts & shinny muggy weather.
So I get to the train station a little early, and find the 2 trains before mine have been cancelled and mine has been delayed & there are loads of people on the platform , so I just turn around go back up those stairs & across to the tube platform & only just catch the tube to Whitechapel.
I have to wait 15mins for a Hammersmith & city train (I’ve already renamed this line the Hammersmith & shitty, for good reason) so I moved up the platform as I know the carriages are going to be packed at the back.
I finally get on the train & hey my luck is in I actually get a seat; this is akin to winning the lottery in London. I’ve only got to go 4 stops it’s 7.30 (the time I usually get in to work!) so 2 stops in Liverpool street we are standing at the platform for another 10 mins with more & more people pushing on, the carriage is getting really full! When we get an announcement that there are signal failures at kings cross and we don’t know when we will be leaving! There is a massive collective sigh from my carriage & half the people get off then we get a sudden, “mind the door” and we’re off leaving all those people on the platform! We get a massive load of people on so the carriage is packet again. We then get stuck in the tunnel for another 10 mins!
So there’s this little boy he’s about 6 or 7 & his mum waiting in the carriage with me!
She’s sitting next to me he’s standing because “mum don’t you understand I don’t sit down when it’s raining!” there is some 6 year old logic going on.
“I bet you wish I was sick today, mum”
“No, why?”
“Then we wouldn’t have to come out in the rain & get wet, & we wouldn’t be stuck on this train with all its signal failures”
“But I don’t want you to be sick”
“It’s OK mum I don’t mind, I can still watch TV”
To which the rest of the carriage laughed!
We finally move & I get off at the next stop but then so dose the whole train they’ve told us the trains now out of action & everyone’s to get off
So didn’t bother waiting at the buss stop as there are so many people there, it’s raining even heavier than before, & I’m only a 15 min walk from work now. As I walk down a side street there is a massive traffic jam due to 2 cars trying to go down a too narrow street & neither giving way! I finally get into work & I’m the 2nd in everyone else has had problems!!!
I’m wet& cold, the heating’s not on & the phone is ringing! Welcome to Monday!!
Hope everyone else’s Monday was better.

Jase is looking to find rentals in the next month, and he's mentioned the Ealing area. Do you know it at all? xo
Big hugs!
